Hydronic underfloor or under tile heating is not only safe and environmentally friendly, but it comes int two different forms, so you can choose the best system for your home.

The difference between slab heating and screed heating

HYDRONIC IN SLAB HEATING

Hydronic in slab heating utilises the circulation of hot water through your slab to create thermal heat which is transferred from your flooring into your home.

Using the thermal mass of the concrete slab, the heat transfer delivers optimal thermal comfort at much lower temperatures.

Incorporating hydronic underfloor or under tile heating with a high-efficiency condensing boiler can reduce running costs with up to a 20% savings on gas bills.

How is it installed?

Installation involves the fixing of pex pipe directly to the reinforcing mesh at 200mm intervals in either a spiral or serpentine layout at lengths now more than 100 metres.

Your technician will pressurise the pipe prior and during the concrete pour, identifying any possible leaks or damage. The concrete will then encompass the pipe in your slab.

Please call us to discuss suitability of underfloor heating in your home.

HYDRONIC IN SCREED HEATING

Hydronic in screed heating works in a similar manner to in slab heating. It is installed into insulation board between the main slab and topping slab.

Unlike in slab heating, the pex pipe is only laid under 70mm of concrete. This makes it a far more responsive method of heating.

Just like slab heating, the boiler heats water and sends it through the pipework at 45 degrees radiating heat into the concrete screed that then radiates throughout your home.
